Purpose and Goal <back to top>

Team Kindred was created to bring people together as a family, an online family that kicks butt. Making memories and friendships that we will remember for a long time. Members support members in the good and bad times and when we need them the most.

Video games are a way to free yourself from the hustles and bustles of work, school and sometimes just life in general and having an online family makes the time away from all of that even that much more enjoyable and something that one looks forward too.

Hopefully through our good gamer attitudes we will make a difference in the games we play online.

Games We Play <back to top>

For several years Team Kindred was only in 1 game and would continue to grow in that 1 game to try and be the best that we could be. When that game ended we succeeded in that goal but were forced to find a new home and new games to play together. In order to grow we have to move with the times and have played games like Quake3, Tribes, AvP and others. The current games we focus on are First Person Shooters just like our old game but that does not mean that wont change in the future and we take on other kinds of genres. As a team we make the decision of which games we would move on to and play.

Invite Only / Becoming a Member <back to top>

To become a member of Team Kindred you must be invited in. The members will speak up on who they think would best fit us. Every application is received by the CO and XO Manager for that division as well as the Leader and Executive of Team Kindred. The CO/Manager of the division is required to post the application on the boards as well as any conversation with the app if it would pertain to recruiting as if all members received the form so they get the best possible idea of the person. In order for members to then sponsor someone you must make yourself known by playing with the members and coming to Game Nights so the members can play with you and get to know you better. Remember that an app is not a sure fire acceptance, it is just to inform us you are interested and for us to watch you.

What we focus on are the individuals attitude above all else. Your proficiency at playing the game is not an issue, but your attitude, personality and how you deal with others is our concern. If you are abusive, arrogant, disruptive, or get into fights often then don't bother applying. You will not be accepted. A member represents the team wherever they are and must uphold the standards of the team no matter the situation or place.

WIth an invite system there is no 30 day process like we use to have. If it comes to a definate turndown then we feel you should be let known, but otherwise you might not hear anything other than that we received your application. If you happen to not get any word back this does not mean you are not wanted around or that the members dislike you.

Rules of Team Kindred <back to top>

1. Our 18+ years of age rule has been taken out however the maturity of the individual is still one of our highest concerns. Just some times age can't determine that, which is why the change.

2. Never type obsessive profanity or abusive language in or outside of the games. Meaning e-mail's, message boards or anywhere.

3. Do your best for the team and always be willing to learn and improve yourself.

4. Treat EVERYONE with respect. Even if they show you none.

5. We are not hackers and do not tolerate hackers or people who have to resort to cheating.

6. Your team mates are your Internet FAMILY, treat them that way and enjoy your time with them. Take advantage of the fact you are on a team and can play with the many friends we have.

7. Preferably visit the teams message boards weekly, if not keep a current and valid e-mail address for contact purposes and keep us updated if/when it changes.

8. Do not gloat about something, keep it to yourself and sooner or later you will be recognized for a greater reason.

9. Team Kindred will be your only guild/clan/team you can be in so you are not sharing your available time online with other guilds/clans/teams
.

10. If you fear you might be doing something the team, or managers, would not approve of DON'T DO IT :)))

Keeping in Contact    <back to top>

This is very important for being in any team, not just ours. Keeping in contact with your fellow team mates so that we know what's up and don't think you have fallen off the face of the earth. There are many ways to keep in contact these are just a few ways we use inside the team.

ICQ - This is a neat little program that when you are online (you have to turn the thing on :P) the people who you specify can see that you are online and can easily and quickly say hello or talk with you. This is not a requirement to join Team Kindred but is strongly encouraged that you get ICQ and USE it :)). ICQ causes very little lag and unless you are the type that must turn every single thing off while your playing, which some of you might be :P, leaving your ICQ on would be fine and wont hurt anything.

E-mail - It is important that you have some type of e-mail that we can contact you by if we have not seen you on the boards or in game for a while. What better way then to have your very own @teamkindred.com e-mail. If you do not already have an e-mail address this is the easiest way to get an e-mail address.

Side Winder Game Voice - This voice program is top of the line and for serious gamers. For members wanting to play the right way in game or in team league matches this is the voice software to get. If you do not want to spend the money for the actual hardware equipment (which I recommend you do but if not) you can easily download the software that will let you communicate with The Kindred.

TeamSound
- This is another cool voice program for the Internet. Designed for talking in games this program has little to no effect on your lag and is very helpful for kicking some butt.
