Class Background: All of our current knowledge of the xenomorph species has culminated in the creation of this specialist. Anti-Xeno troops are strictly special ops commandos, and their very existence is still mostly a secret. The anti-xeno soldier’s role is not to directly kill xenomorphs, but to assist and protect the other members of their squad. Their primary weapon is an advanced capture device, designed specifically to capture xenomorphs for study or to stall and ensnare them long enough for other marines to destroy. The device’s primary weapon is a steel alloy net that is fired through the air to tie up xenos and trap them harmlessly within. “Bagged” xenos will be unable to move, but can escape – despite our best efforts, we can’t make a net strong enough to hold them for more than a few seconds. Use that time effectively to take them down. The net is great for capturing large attackers, but be aware that some aliens, namely the Queen, are too large to be captured in the net. The device’s secondary fire is a unique energy grenade that scrambles their extrasensory link to the hive mind, effectively stunning them for a few moments. The grenade is slow to reload but has a limited area-effect, and as such is best used against groups of xenos. The trooper’s other weapon is a short range flamethrower that can set enemies on fire for brief periods of time, obscuring their vision and killing or gravely damaging them in the process. The final advantage for the Anti-Xeno trooper is their advanced armor, allowing them greater protection, though at the cost of mobility. Built into this suit is a pair of imaging goggles available to the anti-xeno trooper alone. Filtering electromagnetic signatures, they darkly tint surrounding vision but do work to faintly highlight hiding xenomorphs. This vision can be invaluable in aiding marines to spot xenos that they otherwise may have missed.
