Background:
Fast,
tiny, and deadly, the facehugger is the first stage of
alien development. Their size and unsurpassed ability
to hide make them excellent scouts or allow them to set
up devistating ambushes. However, a hugger's main goal
is to attack and impregnate and enemy with an alien embryo
through an organ forced down the victim's throat. This
requires that a hugger weaken a marine to 25 HP or less
and then leap upon their face. Each successful facehug
will give an additional life to the alien pool.
The facehugger
has a small whiplike tail that it can use to cause small,
but increasing damage to enemies in order to wear them
down for a facehug. Huggers can leap short distances
into the air and pounce upon marines, but this will
only have an effect if the marine is sufficiently weakened.
The hugger is the only alien class that can tell an
enemies health by a diminishing pheremone halo as their
health drops. This allows the hugger to know exactly
when to strike.
The facehugger
can crawl on any surface but has no molting abilities
and cannot break doors. It is invaluable, however, to
keeping the alien side stocked with extra lives, and
can be deadly in the hands of a skilled player.
