Background:
The
Rifleman is the standard soldier of the Colonial Marines.
They are well-trained in combat tactics and weapon control
in a number of varying environments and situations. Riflemen
generally specialize in fast combat drops and close quarter
battles within man-made complexes. However, they are able
to adapt with a generally high degree of success to most
any enemy or terrain they should encounter. Though most
platoons and battalions of the CMC specialize in fighting
human enemies, the marines in Gateways Staging area
are most familiar with combating the xenomorph species.
The Riflemans purpose in these engagements is to
locate and destroy the aliens while protecting mission
specialists long enough to complete their objectives.
Their standard kit includes the powerful M5 Series Pulse
Rifle - an armor-piercing automatic weapon well suited
for combat against the xenos. Riflemen also carry the
Motion Tracker to assist them in locating approaching
enemies and mission objectives, and the blowtorch to cut
through obstructions or weld them shut. Though marine
doctrine forbids personal weapons, most riflemen also
carry a pistol and shotgun as backup weapons. |
